I thought I would kick off the Forum section of our new site by telling a bit of my experience with nudism, in hopes that it might inspire some others to tell their stories, too. For me, the first time I was naked in public was 1981. It was on Honeymoon Island in Florida.

At the time, the north end of the island was a notorious beach, frequented by nudists. It was also known as a gay cruising spot. It was an integral part of my personal coming out story. But, while I went to the beach for the naked men, I quickly fell in love with the nature and wildlife. Being in nature in my most natural state brought to me a sense of peace I had not felt before.
Thirty eight years later the sense of peace and freedom I feel being naked in nature stays with me. It is an experience everyone should feel: being completely one with the Earth with no barriers or artificial boundaries. Perfect bliss.
Naked on the beach! One of my favorite things!
In college, there was always a "looseness" with nudity given men and women and alcohol laden fraternity parties, spring break, etc. So being naked in that setting was no big deal. However, I got to take it a step further by trying my hand at nude modeling for the art department. It was a different feeling dropping that robe the first time in front of a room of about 10 students. But then it became comfortable and by the time the school year was over, it was commonplace for me not to wear a robe during breaks while I walked around and mingled with the students! I was fine with it, the students were fine with it, and the professor (a hippy type person), she was definitely fine with it. Ever since, being naked around others isn't an issue with me.

Being naked outdoors is a great sense of freedom, the beach is good for that fresh & clean feeling, enjoying the sea & the wide open beach. We prefer the countryside and long walks, wooded glades & country lanes. We have enjoyed beaches in Europe and we have also stayed at friends homes in Spain & Tenerife. A truly wonderful freedom with nice people everywhere.
