The Refreshing Response by Some to Political Revenge Porn

Representative Katie Hill's nude photos have spread around social media and even on mainstream media like wildfire. They were, naturally, accompanied by the same tired old feigned offense by the usual sources of feigned offense, you know the pious religious folks who are probably closet-case sex-freaks...

Well, among the expected sex-shaming and the forced gasping and "oh-my"ing has been a growing chorus of strong voices saying the obvious: so what! In this piece in the Guardian, Ashley Fairbanks, who works in politics and who is currently serving as the creative director for the Julián Castro Campaign, wrote:

Almost every woman I know has taken nudes at sometime in her life. As more women run for office, we have to stop fear from holding us back.

We nudists need to take a moment and add our voices to this chorus. We need to make clear that it is the nonconsensual sharing of private images and not nudity or sex that is shameful. Great job Ashley and others!
